The film has already attracted considerable interest after highly publicized disagreements between its Director Olivier Dahan and producer Harvey Weinstein over the final cut of the film apparently delayed the release date of the film.

The film evidently brims with well-intentioned melodrama but has also been condemned by the current Monaco royal family for containing ‘major historical untruths and a series of purely fictional scenes.’

At least Nicole Kidman looks the part in the extravagantly lush display of well-orchestrated screen beauty.
