Hunger Games Star Joins Ninja Turtles Cast
Hunger Games Catching Fire star Alan Ritchson will reportedly play one of the Ninja Tutles in the new film version directed by Jonathan Liebesman and produced by Michael Bay.
Joining the previously confirmed Megan Fox, Ritchson will apparently be playing sai wielding CGI turtle Raphael. For those unfamiliar with the genius of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles or struggling to remember their long lost childhoods, Raphael was the wisecracking one in the red bandanna.
Ritchson will motion capture the part, leading to inevitably disappointing leaked set photos of four men in blue spotted unitards fighting ninjas. It’s presumed he’ll also be providing the voice of the character. Assuming Michael Bay doesn’t decide to entirely replace dialogue with 2hrs of deafening explosions.
The Rock Getting A Fast & Furious Spin-Off
Speaking to Empire Magazine whilst promoting the new G.I. Joe sequel The Rock aka Dwayne Johnson has suggested that his perpetually angry character from the never-ending Fast and the Furious Franchise might get his own solo adventure at some point.
“Possibly… after this one. After the next one. Possibly. I’m not quite too sure. I know that’s the goal, and we continue to build that character and have him take shape, form. But yes, can’t wait.”

Brett Ratner’s Hercules Cast Grows
Rush Hour director Brett Ratner is making a new movie version of Hercules starring The Rock Dwayne Johnson. Based on a graphic novel the revisionist history take on the classical hero will avoid all that Gods and Greek Mythology nonsense, re-imaging Hercules and his friends as simply a toga wearing version of the Expendables.
Rufus Sewell and Ian McShane have now reportedly both joined the cast. Sewell will play the thieving Autolycus and McShane will be playing the priest like warrior Amphiarus. Joseph Fiennes and John Hurt are both also joining the cast but their characters are yet to be announced.
First Light Awards 2013 Winners & Interviews
The First Light Awards 2013 took place at Odeon, Leicester Square yesterday afternoon. Celebrating the creative talents of the young people that have been involved in First Light filmmaking projects throughout the year, this year’s ceremony was hosted by comedian Iain Stirling and CBBC’s Hacker T Dog.
Known as the mini Oscars® the ceremony was attended by a mix of film industry luminaries and celebrities including Sir Alan Parker, Joely Richardson, Simon Pegg, Rafe Spall and Olivia Williams, who presented the young people with awards across various categories, including Best Drama, Best Animation, Best Film by Under 12s, Best Film by Over 13s and FILMCLUB of the Year Award.
It was a fun, celebratory event and a new exciting experience for many of the nominees who travelled to London from all over the UK.
Many of the young filmmakers come from disadvantaged backgrounds and have experienced adverse circumstances such as homelessness, exclusion from school, becoming a teenage parent, having a disability or being a refugee.
This years judges included Martin Freeman, Jenna Louise Coleman, Amanda Nevill, David Heyman, Ralf Little, Dawn Porter, Jonathan Bailey, Manjinder Virk, Claire Foy, Toby Jones, Freddie Fox, Rebecca O’Brien, Emma Hindley, and Sir Alan Parker
