Woody Allen back to NYC for Blue Jasmine

Woody Allen’s next film will see the veteran director return to his first love, New York City. Having successfully explored the neurotic wonders of Europe in Midnight In Paris and To Rome With Love his next project will apparently focus on  ”the final stages of an acute crisis and a life of a fashionable New York housewife.”

Sony Pictures Classic have acquired the American distribution rights for the project, with Allen’s recent Box office success with Midnight In Paris proving he can still draw a crowd.

As always Allen has pulled together an fine ensemble of accomplished performers; with Alec Baldwin, Cate Blanchett, Bobby Cannavale, Louis C.K., Andrew Dice Clay, Sally Hawkins, Peter Sarsgaard and Michael Stuhlbarg all set to star.
